During the event, which will be held in 2025, in celebration of the 200 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the IPSP will organize a scientific meeting aiming to discuss a joint scientific collaboration plan.
The Institut Pasteur de São Paulo (IPSP) will be taking part in activities relating to the Brazil-France Season in 2025. The season will include a first Brazilian part in France from April to September, preceded by a prelude from January, and a second French part in Brazil from August to December 2025.
The aim of the events is to celebrate the 200 years of diplomatic relations between the countries by promoting activities that encourage cooperation in areas such as education, art, research, and youth, fostering opportunities for tourism and business agreements and addressing issues related to the environment and energy transition.
The IPSP has set up a committee to organize a scientific meeting during the Year of France in Brazil with at least 40 invited researchers (20 from Brazil and 20 from France), members of the global health department of the Institut Pasteur of Paris and the IPSP, as well as members of the Pasteur institutes from Latin America and Africa.
In the meeting, attendees will discuss a joint scientific collaboration plan involving Brazil and France, which will address, among other topics, the impact of climate change on health.
The year 2025 will mark a decade of the Paris Agreement, known as the Climate Agreement, in which Brazil committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 37% below 2005 levels by 2030. It will also be the year in which Brazil will host the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), an event where treaties such as the Paris Agreement are discussed.
